The ChloraPrep 3 mL applicator provides an easy-to-use design that delivers a unique formulation of chlorhexidine gluconate (CHG) and isopropyl alcohol (IPA).

The 2% Chlorhexidine Gluconate/70% Isopropyl Alcohol formulation can be applied with gentle friction to help the solution penetrate the first five cell layers.

ChloraPrep's patented applicator promotes an aseptic technique and reduces the risk of direct hand-to-patient contact - reducing the risk of cross-contamination.

How to use ChlorPrep:

1) Holding the barrel of the applicator, pinch the levers together, being careful not to touch the sponge, you will hear a ‘pop’ as the ampoule breaks.
2) Starting at the incision site, gently press the applicator against the skin until the solution soaks the sponge, apply using repeated up and down, back and forth strokes for at least 30 seconds, before working outwards to the periphery.
3) Leave the area to air dry completely before applying sterile drapes. Do not blot or wipe away and discard the applicator after a single-use.
