BD PosiFlush SP (Sterile Fluid Path Way) Pre-Filled Saline Syringe
BD PosiFlush SP (Sterile Fluid Path Way) Pre-Filled Saline Syringe
BD PosiFlush SP Saline Syringes have been specifically designed for flushing vascular access devices that are not in a sterile field.
All BD PosiFlush Syringes:
Are designed to comply with PICC manufacturer instructions, increasing overall patient safety.
Minimise blood reflux that can be associated with flushing when using a standard syringe.
Please Note: Plunger Reflux occurs during a flush procedure when the rubber plunger rod stopper meets the end of the syringe. Because it is rubber, it will compress then rebound, creating a vacuum that draws blood back into the catheter.
A Safe, Cost-effective Catheter Patency Solution, BD PosiFlush Syringes:
Promote best practice.
Eliminate needles used to fill syringes with flush solutions.
Eliminate glass vials and cartridges.
Comply with all needleless IV access systems.
Strengthen healthcare worker safety practices.
Reduce Medical Errors and Complications by:
Eliminating potential cross-contamination associated with multi-dose containers.
Decreasing breaks in aseptic technique during preparation.
Using preservative-free saline, suitable for use with all patients.
Improve Clinical Workflow and Productivity by:
Reducing the number of steps and time required for clinicians to prepare flush syringes.
Reducing acquisition, storage and distribution costs for the multiple components currently required to flush IV sites.
Reducing sharps collector waste by up to 50%, compared to a conventional 12ml syringe.
Enhance Your Catheter Maintenance Program with BD PosiFlush Syringes:
Completely eliminate needles that may still be used to fill syringes with flush solutions.
Improve flushing proficiency with the BD Blunt Plastic Cannula.
Comply with INS Standard, encouraging the use of single-dose flushing systems along with the CDC, which strongly encourages the use of single-dose flushing systems to reduce risk of contamination1.
